If you're looking for ways to increase the amount of money you make, there are an increasing number of apps you can use to do just that.
Many people don’t have enough free time to commit to a part-time job for extra pocket money, but these five "pocket money apps" are low commitment and can earn you some money to pay for a few meals a week if you keep up with them.
Some of these apps reward you with gift cards, while others offer the opportunity to redeem points for cash rewards. Either way, they can present simple ways to earn extra money to help pay your bills.
1. Earn Haus
Earn Haus gives its members the opportunity to get paid cash for taking online paid surveys. Instead of points or tokens, Earn Haus pays its members in cash through Venmo or PayPal. It's pretty simple - you earn $5.00 for every 3 surveys you complete. That's it. Payments are sent the same day, so you can sign up and have money in your account the very same day.
2. Acorns
This is not a traditional money-making app per se, but will help you budget and understand your personal finances – plus they give you $10 to sign up for free. The Acorns app makes it easy to see where your money is currently going and get a solid budget in place. Their "round ups" will instantly invest extra cash from your purchases to help grow your nest egg.
3. Fetch Rewards
Receipts are not something usually associated with making money, but a free app called Fetch Rewards changes that – you can earn points redeemable for rewards with this service simply by scanning your grocery receipts wherever you shop. You can redeem your points for gift cards at hundreds of stores, including big names like Walmart, Amazon,Target, and more.
4. Field Agent
Field Agent is an app that will notify you when you pass a money-making opportunity. The app will light up a location that wants secret shoppers or reviews on their products, and if you choose, you can simply go to the store once notified to complete a task. Tasks include things like photographing a product on the shelf, filling out a short online survey, or trying out a new product.
The more tasks you complete, the more money you make. This isn't a "work from home" type opportunity, since you'll be asked to travel locally, but the missions can be interesting!
5. HealthyWage
If you're trying to lose weight, HealthyWage has turned weight loss into an opportunity to earn cash. After you download the app, you simply set your current weight, how much weight you would like to lose, and when you are planning to lose it by.
With HealthyWage, you are placing a bet on meeting your weight loss goal. If you lose the weight you plan by the date you set, they pay you money. If you don’t, they keep the money and you can try again.
